I explain the Anxiety Avoidance Mechanism (aka Anx) behind the Maze Walls. This mechanism also plays a role in the Topography of The Maze.
Where Anx presents an impermeable barrier, I call it a Wall; where Anx presents resistance, I may consider akin to a Tide, or a Hill; some Tides are gentle, others are strong, some are dangerous; large Hills are considered Mountains; passable routes through them are called Passes.
Thus Anx presents not only a Maze, but a Maze built on varied landscape, and with many dangers lurking within. That, at least, is how it seems from within. From without, from the Exterior, all people may observe is a change in behaviour, possibly worrying, but with no idea as to the underlying process. Indeed from the Exterior it is simply intractable to attempt to piece together the workings of someone's Mind given available evidence. (Yet the Mental Health profession still appears to behave as if they believe to the contrary.)
