As someone with a mathematics background, biological evolution is merely a particular instance of a more general mathematical phenomena I associate with the word 'evolution'. So when I talk of 'evolution', I mean this more general mathematical concept and when I explicitly refer to the mechanism by which biological species evolve, I will refer to it as 'biological evolution'.
